Outpatient Services:

Family Trauma Services provides community-based comprehensive mental health treatment services to children, adolescents, and families, including psychiatric assessments, medication evaluations, psychological testing, home-based counseling, home-based mentoring, group therapy, and individual therapy.  Family Trauma Services provides a coordinated, multi-therapeutic approach which simultaneously manages and modifies the problematic behavior while addressing the core trauma issues.  Family Trauma Services believes that youth are best supported within a family context, and that the family is best supported within the community.  Family Trauma Services utilizes a community-based approach to providing services and focuses on teaching families the skills needed to access existing resources in their community.

Children and adolescents may receive center-based weekly individual therapy as a core component of their individualized treatment plan.  The individual therapy is provided by a Masters level or Licensed Clinician and addresses issues related to family relations, coping, underlying traumatic issues, issues of loss and transition, personal goals, and other significant issues as they arise.  If clinically necessary, children and adolescents may also participate in weekly group counseling specific to their therapeutic needs.  Through participation in group therapy, clients receive feedback and support from peers in similar situations as well as specific educational information related to their therapeutic needs.

The following therapeutic groups are available:

  • Adolescent Sex Offender Group
  • Cognitive Low Functioning Adolescent Sex Offender Group
  • Children’s and Adolescent Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Group
  • Transition/Aftercare Group
  • Social Skills Group
  • Surviving Trauma Groups
  • Independent Living Skills Group
  • Oppositional-Defiant Behavior Group
  • Conduct Disorder Group
  • Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Group
  • Parenting Skills Groups
  • Parent Support Groups

Transportation of the client to individual and group therapy sessions may be provided by Counselors working with the family. Family Trauma Services also provides 24-hour/7 days a week on-call crisis intervention support. Appointments are available during evening and weekend hours.
