Treatment Team Approach:

Family Trauma Service’s Treatment Team approach is a central component in the delivery of all of our clinical programs.  Family Trauma Service’s Treatment Team is composed of all clinical staff involved with the child, including home-based family counselors, mentors, individual therapists, and group therapists, as well as the youth and family and any other support persons identified by the family.  Family Trauma Service’s Clinical Treatment Team aims to accomplish the following when providing services to children and families:

  • To provide versatility to more adequately meet the needs of the family as a whole, as well as the individual needs of each  member of the family.
  • To provide multiple levels of service by exposing the client and family to a variety of therapeutic techniques and styles so as to provide them with an assortment of outlets for the  expression of feelings.
  • To provide clients and families with more than one source of feedback regarding family functioning, problem-solving, and goal attainment.
  • To provide a treatment approach which is collaborative and cooperative which allows team members to share the work with families, to provide coverage for one another, and to grow professionally by observing and learning from one another.
  • To model for families good communication skills, cooperation, and how to work effectively together as a team.
