Who We Serve:

Family Trauma Service’s clinical services focus on behavioral problems, anxiety disorders, adolescent sexual offenders, social skills, parenting skills, parent support, as well as programs designed to meet the needs of children and adolescents returning to the community from residential placement and/or placement in a correctional facility.   Family Trauma Services serves young children, adolescents, adults and families.  Since 1993, Family Trauma Services has served hundreds of local families.  

Family Trauma Services serves children and adolescents who meet one or more of the following criteria: 
  • Infancy to 18 years of age at time of referral
  • Adults
  • Males and females
  • Children and adolescents experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (e.g., depression, withdrawal, flashbacks, psychological distress with exposure to cue, avoidance of stimuli associated with event) 
  • Children and adolescents with sexual offense convictions or charges
  • Children and adolescents who exhibit sexual acting-out behaviors
  • Children and adolescents who are or have been at risk of being removed from their homes due to sexual acting-out behavior, symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or behavioral problems.
  • Children and adolescents returning to the community from residential programs, psychiatric hospitalizations, or correctional facilities
  • Children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and who may display a number of acting-out behaviors such as physical aggression, noncompliance with authority, school difficulties, social skills difficulties, and other significant behavior problems 
  • Children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental retardation.
  • Children and adolescents with learning disabilities.
  • Children and adolescents with emotional disabilities.
  • Children and adolescents who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse and neglect.
